Back to Work

Today is the first day back to work after the wild fires.

San Diego Fire 2007

On Monday, Oct. 22, I got together everything I would want and need to take, if I had to evacuate.

Fortunately, the fire is not in my area of San Diego. I live close by the Qualcomm stadium.

All San Diego Unified schools have been closed for this week. And really I think all schools, colleges, and universities have become closed for this week. This is due to at least two things:
*staff and/or students who have had to evacuate their homes
*because of the above, some schools became understaffed, and although some schools may not be in any danger of the fire, the air quality is poor.

Goodbye Curious

I've been so busy recently with new classes and a classified position at Taft, instead of being just a "floater sub", I haven't been blogging much.

It's been about three weeks now, I think, since my mom and I had to take Curious to be put down.

And still it's hard for me. No one else is closer to me, than my sister, parents, and Frisky. Although I have relatives, they live on the East Coast, and I'm just not emotionally attached to them.

Prayers of Grattitude and Thanks

About three months ago I found a dimple in my right breast. After several ultrasounds a mammogram and a breast MRI, fast forward to Tuesday. I had another ultrasound and then the UCSD radiologist came in and said that the MRI showed two bright spots behind both of my breasts (anything bright is not supposed to be there). So, he took some biopsies from both breasts. Fast forward to last night, I got a call at 9:30, he said that whatever I had was benign. So that is pretty good!

Finals Next Week

So, I'm taking Geography and Geometry.

Monday will be my Geometry final and Wednesday will be my Geography final.

I've been so busy with these classes and helping out as an SEA at Taft Middle School I haven't had much time for much else.

My big toe on my left foot has been hurting for a few weeks, I'll probably be making a doc appointment in the near future.

And recently I've been feeling more emotional and depressed than before. And I already take depression meds. I think what's most frustrating for me is that sometimes I feel really sad, almost like crying sometimes, but I don't know why I feel that way.

What'd ya get for Christmas?

Well, I didn't get a lot.

But that's more because I've been doing some window shopping and looking at reviews of PDAs or PocketPCs with GPS capabilities or GPS systems with PDA/PocketPC capabilities.

From the product reviews I found online and what was available here, in San Diego, I opted to buy the Pharos GPS 525.

It's one of the smallest GPS systems out there.

My other presents were a silver kitty ring holder and an assortment of different flavored hot chocolate mixes. And a Dove Christmas tree ornament.
